Where is Access Plus based?
We are in based in Ayrshire just west of Kilmarnock.
Do you hire Cherry Pickers?
Yes, although they are officially known as Straight or Articulated booms. They range from 38 ft to 91 ft working heights.
Do you hire Scissor Lifts?
Yes, they range from 9 ft to 60 ft working.
Do you hire Telescopic handlers?
No. But we can always help you locate by recommending other suppliers.
Can you deliver for 8.00am in the morning?
Absolutely, if pre-arranged.
Do you deliver at weekends?
Absolutely, if pre-arranged.
Do you hire for 1 day?
Absolutely. You might want to consider your delivery time as traffic and weather can often cause timely issues – so to avoid you may wish to order your equipment to be delivered the evening before (recommended).
Do you need trained to operate a Powered Access Machine?
Absolutely. WAHR (Working At Height Regulations 2005) stipulates that the employer must provide suitable training to all height workers. The IPAF PAL Card is universally recognised as the best form of proving that you are trained to operate that particular category of Access Machine.
Can we have a machine that does not break down?
Access Plus has the best call out rates in Scotland – that is – we are by far the LEAST likely company to have a breakdown. Clearly we cannot guarantee that any machine hired will not malfunction, although Access Plus ensure that every machine is thoroughly PDI’d by our CAP Card holding engineers before it is dispatched to site. All machines are also issued with a 6 monthly inspection certificate that comply with the LOLAR regulations. (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998). We also have an intensive maintenance schedule for thorough examination by our own qualified which happens twice a year as a minimum.
What power options do you have?
We have Diesel and Electric options on both Scissors and Booms.
Do you have battery scissor lifts that last all day?
Access Plus are Kings of longevity because our machines have bigger batteries than the manufacturer supplies them with so that you have a 12hour battery duty cycle so they will last as long as you can.
Can we open an account?
Yes, subject to our terms and conditions.
Do you provide non marking tyres?
All our electric machines are non-marking as standard. The diesel ones can be provided with tyre covers.
Can you deliver anywhere?
Yes. We have more lorries per fleet size than any other hire fleet in Scotland – so its easy for us to say Yes here.. We are also part of a group of large independents (other access company’s) the length and breadth of the UK, so we can truly offer National Coverage.
How long does a full tank of fuel last?
Typically on average approximately 1 week – depends on usage obviously.
How much can I lift on a platform?
You should always refer to the manual provided with the machine or to the decal stickers that indicate this. This data can also be found on the plate of the machine.
